Australia Day Celebrations in Nelson Bay

D’ALBORA Marinas Nelson Bay is gearing up to celebrate Australia Day with free live entertainment down at the marina from 12pm to 8pm.

Live music from local solo artist, Todd Shmoo will commence from 12pm until 3pm. Todd, formerly of the band ‘End of Days’ is a local soloist based in the Hunter Valley with a song list including a range of artists such as Matchbox 20, Ed Sheeran, Powderfinger, Diesel and Bon Jovi.

From 4pm to 8pm, families will also be entertained with free balloon animal creations, face painting, stilt walkers, roving wing dancers, and roving LED performers.

Headlining the day’s celebrations is local band, Crawford Brothers who will perform live from 5pm until 8pm. Having just returned from the Springboard South Music Festival in Texas and having been showcased in Los Angeles as part of a promotional tour, Crawford Brothers is the latest venture from Ben and Zac Crawford, two brothers from the small town of Hinton, about a 30 minute drive west of Newcastle.

Marina Manager, Sandra Hapgood, said that the activities taking place down at Nelson Bay Marina offer the perfect mix of family-friendly and local entertainment to celebrate Australia Day in true Australian style.

“Celebrating Australia Day by the water on the marina and foreshore with activities for the family, and a showcase of local talent is the epitome of celebrating the day in Australian style. We are proud to be participating in the day’s activities and celebrating this important day with the local community,” Hapgood said.

Schedule of Activities:

12.00pm to 3.00pm: Live music by Todd Schmoo

4.00pm to 5.30pm: Balloon animals and face painting

5.00pm to 8.00pm: Live music by Crawford Brothers

6.30pm to 7.00pm: Stilt walkers and wing dancers

7.30pm to 8.00pm: LED performers
