Newcastle Amnesty are putting on a night of music to help women who have experienced homelessness and/or domestic violence at Agosti Espresso, Darby St on Fri 27 March from 6pm.
All funds raised will go towards purchasing essential supplies packs for women moving into new accomodation. Many women are forced to leave everything behind and seek help from Nova for Women and Children to find new accomodation. It’s not easy to start again but these essential items packs can make a huge difference.
A jam-packed line up of performers have donated their time for this event including:
– Sorella Women’s Choir
– Harpist Morgana Osaki
– Musician Maximus Priest
– Raduga Trio
+ Suellyn Moore from Nova for Women and Children will talk about women’s homelessness in Newcastle.
We have a bunch of fantastic prizes to to be drawn on the night so make sure you get some tickets $2 each or 3 for $5.
HOW WILL THE FUNDS BE USED?
We’re talking about the most basic of items necessary when starting again, including toilet paper, sheets, towels and cutlery. We’ll provide a number of packs to Nova for women and children and they’ll give them to women in need. We invite you to not only help raise the funds, but to help us decide on essential items, purchase and deliver the packs to Nova. Follow our facebook page for further updates.
Dinner, snacks, desert, tea, coffee or a drink from the bar can be purchased from the regular menu. Tickets are $23 each and can be purchased online or on the night if not sold out prior.
