There’s no stopping Sydney Junction Hotel’s owners, Clare and Campbell. It seems that every time we turn around there’s something new popping up at the Beaumont Street hotel brining in a new wave of punters. Here’s 5 reasons we think you should check out the Sydney Junction Hotel this weekend.

Lunch specials

With the Sydney Junction Hotel Bistro being a finalist in the 2015 Restaurant & Catering Awards and the AHA Awards for Excellence, our food expectations were pretty high when we sat down to feast on some lunch specials a few moths ago… And, we’re happy to say, we were not disappointed! During the weekend SJs offer up some classic pub food at just $13. Choose from Chicken Schnitzel, fish and chips, Bangers and mash or Mum’s favourite, lambs fry and bacon.

Live music

With one of the best set ups for live music in town, the Sydney Junction Hotel is quickly becoming one of the best venues to see live music in the Hunter. Their in house PA sounds great and the bands that play always report how well their sound is mixed by the hotel’s roster of sound engineers. The Viper Creek Band, The Years and Hornet are just a few of the bands regularly playing at SJs. Check out the guide to find out who’s playing this weekend.

Milk Run

Get the weekend started right with the Sydney Junction Hotel’s MILK RUN. Brining you the hottest mix of Newcastle’s DJs who are ready to get the dancefloor pumping! With free entry and $5 drink specials, including house spirits, house sparkling and Coronas, MILK RUN is becoming THE place to be on Friday nights. Plus, if you get snapped by the SJs photographer, you can go in the draw to win ‘Photo of the Week’ – Each week the lucky winner is announced over Facebook and receives a $50 Bar Tab (now, that’s a lot of $5 drinks!).

The new look

With a background in design, Clare Rogers – who owns the venue with her husband, Campbell – took a very hands-on approach to the interior changes. Clare wanted to focus on natural textures and raw finishes, with lots of greenery to bring the space to life. The vibrant greens of the plant life add a great pop of colour against the muted, earthy tones, and two large vertical gardens create a striking feature wall in the dining room.

The family friendly atmosphere

The recently installed indoor kids playground complete with colourful tunnels and slide has been a hit amongst the kids (and the parents too) as it creates endless hours of fun and excitement.Kids colouring packs, children’s toys and books which are all available within the Kids Zone are also a big hit with parents who’ve come to the hotel for lunch an early weekend dinner.
