2015 Kilgour Prize finalists announced

Early this year, Newcastle Art Gallery invited artists to submit entries for the 2015 Kilgour Prize, and the judging panel selected 30 finalists from more than 150 entries received from artists across the country.

The Kilgour Prize awards $50,000 for the most outstanding painting by an Australian artist, as judged by a selection panel. Funded by the bequest of artist Jack Noel Kilgour, it is one of the most lucrative art awards in the country.

Finalists include a number of artists from Newcastle and the Hunter region, including Michael Bell, Pablo Tapia, Mark Berryman and Paul Maher.
